This is a demo shop. Nothing here ships, no payment is taken and no order you place is real. It exists so that you can try the assistant and see how the shop is put together.
What happens to what you type. Your message goes to our server, which passes it to OpenAI to write the reply. With it go the recent conversation and the shop information the answer needs. If you have signed in and ask about an order, that includes the order’s number, date, status, items and total — never an address, an email or payment details. We add no name, account or identifier: anything personal reaches the model only if you type it yourself.
What we keep, and for how long. Your conversation is saved in this shop’s database so the chat still makes sense if you reload the page. On this demo, conversations, ratings and any email you leave with the assistant are deleted every night, together with the orders and accounts created that day. Our server keeps no copy of what you write: it counts messages so each shop stays within its monthly allowance, and that is all.
IP addresses. The shop’s access logs do not record them, and orders placed here are saved without one. To stop the chat and the demo sign-in being hammered, we keep a short-lived fingerprint of your address — a minute for the chat, an hour for the sign-in — and then it expires. The one place an address stays is the server’s error log, when a request fails: it is used only to block attacks and is deleted after 14 days.
Cookies and browser storage. The shop sets the cookies it needs to keep your basket and, if you use the demo sign-in, to keep you signed in. The chat remembers in your browser that you accepted its notice and which conversation is yours. A small cookie remembers what you chose in the cookie banner. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them, as explained below. There are no advertising cookies.
Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how the demo is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive, what device and browser they use, their approximate location, and how far they get through the shop, test orders included. It sets two cookies, _ga and one whose name starts with ga. Google processes this data on our behalf and may do so outside the UK. The reports are kept for 14 months, and the nightly clean-up of orders and conversations does not remove them. Advertising features and Google signals are switched off. If you do not accept, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
Your choices. Cookie Settings, at the bottom of every page, lets you change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time; withdrawing also deletes the analytics cookies from your browser. The Request My Data link at the bottom of the chat window asks for a copy of your conversation or for its deletion. This demo sends no email, so no confirmation will arrive — and there is nothing to wait for: the conversation is gone by morning.
